Hi, I'm Mila
I am a front-end web developer based in Toronto. My education background is in Chemical Engineering and I have a Master of Science degree in this discipline from Ryerson University.
I discovered my passion for coding during an internship at RBC ventures and working with the Butter Subscriptions development team. During my internship I was inspired by the opportunity to develop solutions for clients’ needs in the form of web applications and unlimited creativity in the coding world. Following that I pursued coding by taking Web Development and JavaScript courses and eventually Web Immersive full-time program at Juno College of Technology. I found a great blend of utilizing my analytical mindset from my engineering background to effectively solve programming problems.
Passion and lifelong learning are two most important aspects of my life. I believe passion makes for a continuous learner who can grow and improve through time.

// Podcast Prioritizer
Podcast prioritizer suggests relevant podcasts to its users based on their topic of choice and commute time. This app is developed in React Framework. Data is fetched from two separate REST API’s based on user’s input of starting and destination points and topic of choice. The suggested podcasts are displayed to the user to choose from and listen to. This project was designed as part of Web Immersive Program cirriculam at Juno College of Technology to create production style development enviroment with instructors as stakeholders and students team as development team.

// PetAdobt
PetAdopt displays adoptable pets to its users based on their selection of location and type of pet, including Cats, Dogs, and Birds. The users can also select and store their favourite pets for later access. This App is developed in React framework. Adoptable pet data is fetched using Pet Finder and mapQuest Rest APIs. Firebase technology is used to connect a real time database to the App to store the users’ favourite pets. I was inspired to develop this App following the recent increase in pet adoption due to Covid 19 pandemic and the fact that my own pup helped me greatly to cope with this tough times.
